Old World Brewery

I want to give a shout out to the boys down at Old World Brewery. They are a new band of brewers that just opened their doors a few months ago. They are brewing some of the best beeer in the Phoenix metro area. Thats just my opinion, you'll have to check them out and see for yourself. I have had at least 4 of their brews an every one is a winner. Patrick and crew are doing a phenomenal job, and I hope they keep up the good work. As a fan of porter I have to say that there's is almost secong to none. These guys have a good operation going and I wish them the best. I stop in every chane I get to have a pibt or pick up a growler to have at the house.

So, to all the boys down at Old World Brewery, thanks and keep the beer coming.

Its Been A While

Well it has definetly been a long time since i was able to add a post to this blog. So ifigured I'd add a brew worthy of such an occasion. Skull Splitter is one of those brews that has an awesome flavor, with an ABV that will kick you in the ass.

I gad this one not too long a go and absolutely loved it. If you read the label before you drink it you will agree with every word of it after the fact.

Bring On The Holiday Cheer

Recently I tried another brew that was definetly noteworthy. Shiner's Holiday Cheer definetly lives up to its name. It tastes of peaches and roasted pecans, just as it promises on the label. To me it definetly tastes like a true "holiday" beer. The warm flavors and smoothness make this an instant holiday favorite in my book. I have become a bit of an enthuisiast with the seasonal brews and am definetly looking forward to the winter line-up.

A Beautiful Sunset

This next beer is probably one of the most interesting brews I've talked about so far. Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat has such a unique flavor I recommend anyone who hasn't to try this one of a kind beer. It has the most intense fruit taste. A bartender once told me she thought it tasted like fruity pebbles. that is probably the most accurate discription I can think of. This is a must have for any beer enthusiast.

Floatin' On

So as I've been tying new beers over the past few months I heard of something completely new to me. The Beer Float. My first thought was that it sounded awful. However, after learning that it should only be made with certain beers and vanilla ice cream I thought I would give it a shot. The beers I have seen used most are stouts, and porters. It was one of the greatest drinks I can recall having. If you are open minded great things can be discovered. That has been one of the key things I have had to do to keep my journey going.

The Shining

So, the other day I drank a beer that I haven't had in a long time. I am finding a lot of the things I thought in regards to a beers taste are wrong. I used to think that just because a beer was darker in color it was automatically going to be heavy and bitter. However my tasting of Shiner Bock proved me wrong. Shiner definetly has a darker color than most of the beers I have tried but it was definetly not what I was expecting. It had a little more of a burnt taste, which is probably where it gets its darker complection. This beer definetly "shined."

The Begining

So, this is going to be an account of my "Journey Through Beer." Which is simply my thoughts and opinions of the different beers I will try. Tasting new beers has become an interest of mine so I thought why not write about it.

The first brew that I am going to write about is Rolling Rock. This is probably one my favorite brews. It has a crisp taste, and is great on a hot summer day. Plus, its not too heavy so you can have a few and not even notice.

Well, here's to the begining of what I hope will be a great adventure.
